DeFur Voran LLP is pleased to announce that Matthew Kelsey has been elected Partner to the firm effective January 1, 2017.  Matt joined the firm in 2010 after graduating from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.  He is a native of Blackford County and received a Bachelor of Science degree, summa cum laude, from Ball State University.

Jim Borgmann, Managing Partner, says, “Matt has quickly established himself as one of Muncie’s premier young lawyers, and he will have a long and distinguished career here at DeFur Voran”.  Mr. Kelsey represents clients in several areas, including civil litigation in state and federal court.  Matt’s professional achievements have resulted in his recognition in 2014, 2015, and 2016 as an “Indiana Super Lawyer – Rising Star,” a peer nominated and evaluated acknowledgment.

In addition to his legal practice, Matt also serves on numerous non-profit boards including the Cardinal Greenway, the Muncie Bar Association, and Greater Muncie Area Council on Youth Leadership (“Youth Salute”).  Matt resides in northwestern Delaware County with his wife, Anna, and daughter, Elle.
