Announcement of New Partners

DeFur Voran LLP is pleased to announce that Jon Madison, Nicholas Tokar, and Michael Wilhelm were elected Partners to the firm effective January 1, 2015. Jim Borgmann, Managing Partner, says, “They have contributed greatly to the firm’s success and we look forward to many more years of working with Jon, Michael, and Nick”.

Jon Madison is a New Castle native and currently resides in Mooreland. He received undergraduate and graduate degrees from Ball State University and received his law degree from the University of Dayton School of Law. He represents clients in Estate Planning and Administration, Business, Real Estate and Tax matters, and is a certified mediator. Outside the practice of law, Mr. Madison volunteers time with various organizations. He is the current Chairman of the New Castle/Henry County Economic Development Corporation, a Board Member of the Henry County Redevelopment Commission, and a School Board Member of the Blue River Valley Schools. He is also a member of the Blue River Optimist Club and attends First Christian Church in Mooreland. He has been a member of the firm since 2006 and practices out of the Muncie and New Castle offices.

Nicholas Tokar joined the firm in 2009 and has been named Indiana “Super Lawyer” Rising Star for the past two years. He graduated summa cum laude from Minnesota State University, Mankato and magna cum laude from University of Minnesota Law School. He is on numerous boards in the Muncie-Delaware County area including Muncie-Delaware County Chamber of Commerce, Muncie Downtown Development Partnership, Camp Crosley, Unity Center, and East Central Indiana Estate Planning Council. Mr. Tokar focuses his practice on Business Law, Financial Institutions, Agribusiness, Education Law and Estate Planning and Administration and practices primarily in the Muncie office.

Michael Wilhelm is a native of Brookville, Indiana, received a Bachelor of Science degree from Xavier University, and graduated summa cum laude from Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis.  Mr. Wilhelm represents clients in several areas including estate planning, estate administration, elder law, creditor rights, and civil litigation. He volunteers his time with various organizations, including the Central Indiana Council On Aging, the Elder Law Section of the Indiana State Bar Association, and the Indianapolis Bar Association Hospice Program. Before joining DeFur Voran in 2011, he operated a general civil practice in Brookville. He practices primarily out of the firm’s Fishers office.
